The Neolithic stamp seals of south east and central Europe, mostly recovered from settlement features (and occasionally graves) represent a unique set of data. The stamps recovered from areas in the Balkans and the Danube Basin, unlike their counterparts in Mesopotamia and Iran, are decorated with incised or relief geometric patterns. This volume contains details of 119 clay stamps from 66 sites in south-eastern Europe (including the Balkans north of mainland Greece and also Turkish Thrace) which were found after the publication of Janos Makkay's 1984 book. The material is presented according to site, and each site is represented independently, the amount of detail given is relative to the quality and importance of the site and excavation reports.
